Supporting Animal Health with Species-Specific Probiotics

Most probiotics currently used in pet food/livestock feed manufacturing are of human origin. As probiotic bacteria can evolve host-specific traits, Species-Specific Probiotics are a biologically relevant approach for probiotic selection.

Our team uses a "Trifecta" approach for optimal microbiome support
(Prebiotics, Species-Specific Probiotics, Postbiotic Metabolites)

1 Prebiotics

Prebiotics are ingredients that provide nutrition to support the growth and activity of probiotics in the animal gut.

Our team only sources 100% natural, non-GMO prebiotic raw ingredients for use in our blends, resulting in a high-quality product. We have access to an extensive library of raw ingredients, a few of which are featured below:

2 Species-Specific Probiotics

Species-Specific Probiotics can be used to support the gut microbiome of pets & livestock and positively impact health.

Our probiotics have been isolated from their host species and thoroughly assessed to ensure they exhibit the following characteristics:

  • Free of antibiotic resistance genes as well as virulence genes

  • Ability to survive through the GI tract.

  • Able to adhere to the intestinal cell lining.

  • Produce postbiotic metabolites that strengthen the animal’s gut epithelial barrier.

  • Exhibit immunological protection to the host through the regulation, stimulation, and modulation of immune responses.

3 Postbiotic Metabolites

Postbiotic metabolites are produced from the activity of prebiotic and species-specific probiotic in the gut. Metabolites produced include short chain fatty acids, bacteriocins, enzymes and carbon substances.
